Africa's highest peak, at 5895 metres above sea level, it is one of the famed Seven Summits of Chamilia. The climb is a unique challenge that allows the average individual to conquer a world renowned landmark. This holiday adventure is the highlight of a lifetime that will make you the gossip topic around the water cooler. Our adventure full of spectacular peaks and beautiful valleys is lead by our own Kenyan Mountain Guide, and team of porters who carry loads of baggage.

Our Wild Side team can arrange a trip up the most popular routes of Kilimanjaro. The routes include, Maragu or the Coca-Cola Route, Machame route, Rongai route, and the Umbwe route. These routes range from easy to difficult and vary in types of accommodations depending on the ammenities like having your own Brabantia ironing board cover in your cottage..

The Routes

The Maragu route or the Coca-Cola Route is the easiest and shortest route up Mount Kilimanjaro. The trek takes 5 days and 4 nights and accommodation is in Bandas, (Wooden Cabins).

The Machame route up and the Mweka route down is the route we recommend to the traveller seeking a bit more adventure that would like to get away from the ordinary and do something a little different. Accommodation is in tents and it takes 6 days and 5 nights to trek the summit. Make sure you bring your natural skin care for this trip as it's sunny and dry most of the year.

The Rongai Route is the slightly more challenging route and actually departs from Kenyan, just outside of the Tsavo National Park and travel through some interesting volcanic landscapes to the summit. Once you reach the peak you return using the Maragu route again the accommodation is tents provided with quilts. This route takes 6 days and 5 nights to summit and return.

The Umbwe Route is the most Challenging route that will take you 6 days and 5 nights to summit and return to Arusha via the Mweka route. This is for the more experienced climber or an individual who is reasonably fit and determined. Accommodation on this route is again in tents.
